Wine CaveBeziers is situated at the heart of the Languedoc-Rousillon region of the South of France in, what is believed to be the largest wine producing area in the world.  Lovers of wine will probably recognise the names of Corbieres, Minervois, Faugeres, Picpoul and La Clape to name but a few. Wine routes are available in the apartment.

Beziers flower marketThe climate allows visitors and residents alike to enjoy the ancient and modern aspects of the town, for example pavement cafes and restaurants, various outdoor markets including a beautiful flower market on Fridays throughout the year.

The cathedral of St Nazaire, art galleries and museums are also well worth a visit.

The Canal du Midi, featured on t.v. by Rick Stein, as well as being a fantastic feat of engineering (built by Pierre Paul Riquet over 300 years ago) One of the is also a beautiful, peaceful place to walk and cycle beside.

It is also very pleasant just to sit and watch various  vessels passing over Pont Canal or negotiating the locks.

Throughout the year there are concerts and theatrical events taking place in and around Beziers. For those of you who are not conteHaut languedocnt to stand and stare the Beziers area has lots to share e.g. golf, canoeing, fishing and windsurfing (being only 20 minutes or so from the Mediterranean coast)

The capital city of Montpellier and the towns of Carcassonne, Narbonne and Pezenas are all within easy driving distance.

There's much more to the area than we have space for here of couse. As we tour around, finding new and interesting places and events, we'll be regularly updating the Beziers Blog so always check for the latest information here.
